The Guestbook for Wikispore is a place to introduce yourself and your interests in the project. Similar to a guestbook in nature hiking or mountain climbing, it lets you share with others along the green route of the WikiSpore Trail.

Some potential points to share:

  • What is your wiki (and non-wiki) background?
  • Which existing spores are you interested in?
  • Which new spores would you like to start?
  • What tech aspects are you into?
  • What is your vision for Wikispore?

OAuth is not yet activated on this wiki - to get started, we recommend you simply create a new account using your existing Wikimedia username (but a different password), and we will link the accounts later.

Wikispore Trail travellers

  1. I'm most interested in the Event Spore for current events and the Art Spore for artworks, my home chapter is Wikimedia NYC and I'm active on Wikipedia / Commons / Wikidata. I believe Wikispore has the potential to become wider than Wikipedia, and deeper than Wikidata!--Pharos (talk) 01:12, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
  2. We need a space for experimental development of new sorts of content curation platforms. I am imagining Wikibase federation for structured datasets, new language versions of many Wikimedia projects other than Wikipedias, and miscellaneous new media content platforms such as for videos, unstructured data, and the various other projects proposed at Wikispore. Blue Rasberry (talk) 18:34, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
  3. I will need to explore more to learn the capabilities of this software and how it compares to more traditional Wiki setups. It might possibly be useful to set up a campus-wide Wiki to host the content of the sadly now-dormant guide "How To Get Around MIT", so that updates and revisions can be crowdsourced from the entire MIT community. Reify-tech (talk) 06:59, 23 November 2019 (UTC)
  4. I'm mostly active creating and editing LGBT-related content on the English Wikipedia and Commons. I was invited to participate on an Event Spore; still figuring things out. Funcrunch (talk) 04:22, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
  5. I am interested in landscapes and geographical objects. Therefore I started the Geo Spore to combine information, media and sources about geo-related topics. ChristianSW (talk) 16:39, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
  6. This could be good for storing oral knowledge. Koavfalt (talk) 11:31, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
